Supporting a Local Authority with implementing a new policy

S.T.A.R was approached by a County Council to develop a training course aimed specifically at Care Managers within the Social Care department. The need was to provide a session to allow delegates to explore a new policy on the Carer's Assessment process and discuss the practical implications to them. This meant that the overall objective was for them to gain an insight into how they can put the policy into practice.

S.T.A.R took the time to get to grips with the policy and gain a full understanding in order to put together a half-day session that was delivered to all 160 managers and broke down the key stages of the process with group discussion and syndicate exercises to allow individuals time to share ideas and views. The session was entitled: "Carers Assessment and Services 2006/7: Policy Training"

The result was a well-received course that was attended in high numbers and gained excellent feedback.
