Helping a services company achieve results from their management team

One of the added benefits received of delivering a bespoke training course for your people is that they actually get time to discuss company-specific issues together as a team and start to gain an understanding of the pressures and restrictions facing other people in their organisation that may have previously caused problems or conflict. S.T.A.R has used this fact to ensure that teams from service sector companies take the time out within the training environment to think through how they as a team can make improvements.

A travel agent in London were looking for a training provider to help them draw together their management team and provide them with a range of management skills that would be applied consistently across the company. Upon consultation with the MD and Finance Manager, S.T.A.R was asked to deliver the programme. Taking into consideration the working environment of the team, a high pressure sales and customer service sector, S.T.A.R designed a two-day programme entitled "Effective Management Skills" link to course outline

The two one-day sessions took place on-site and allowed the managers to discuss as a team the ways that particular issues had a different impact on various areas of the business and think about how they could use the techniques and skills shared through the training to address particular people and/or performance issues they were experiencing. The sessions had a three-week gap between modules to fit in with the busy company schedule and also to allow some workplace implementation to allow some constructive feedback and discussion on day two.

Following the success of the initial training event, the company now uses S.T.A.R to provide similar training to new supervisory or management level staff to apply a consistent message across the organisation.
